The barcodes you see around the library are called QR Codes.  QR codes, or “Quick Reference” codes, are 2-dimensional barcodes that can be scanned with your Smartphone.  The codes can retrieve such things as websites, phone numbers, pictures, maps, and social media sites like Twitter and Facebook.  Here at the library they link to databases, the Library Help Desk, book reviews, and video tutorials.

In order to use QR codes, you must have a QR reader on your Smartphone.   If your phone does not have a QR reader, you can come to the library and a librarian can help you download one, or you can go to the following websites:

BeeTagg

Kaywa

UpCode

QuickMark

i-nigma

We also have iPads available in the library with the QR readers already installed for anyone who would like to use them.
